_______________
Disability services are often unknown to people
outside the service system. For many Hoosiers, there
is a lack of awareness about the services that help
people with disabilities live productive and
independent lives - and the organizations that
support them. Today more than ever it is critical
that we change this reality. In the face of limited
public resources, it is our responsibility to tell
the story of the awesome impact that investment in
disability services can have for individuals and
their communities.
INARF, under the guidance of their Board of
Directors, has taken the lead in raising awareness
of these issues to build local support for
preserving the current funding for critical services
and building the case for long term investment in
meaningful and responsible community supports for
Hoosiers with developmental disabilities.
Together withdisability
organizationsaround
the state, we are excited about this opportunity to
educate our families, friends, and neighbors about
the value that people with developmental
disabilities and the providers who support them
bring to local communities and why investment in
services that support their inclusion in the
community make a better Indiana.
